Like it was something light-hearted and it's just par for the course. But, I was shell shocked when I was really struggling with sleep deprivation, so serious that I had to see a doctor. I was a runner and a very fit person prior to having a baby, so I didn't think it would get all that bad. But, it was. And a lot of moms would encourage me, with good intention, by saying things like, "You'll get through it. Your body adapts. It's hard, but you'll be able to get by with less..." Maybe true for some, but not me. So, kudos for giving the real scoop on the truth and tips on how to prepare. For me, my advice to first time mommy friends is to learn how/where to hire a nanny, in case you need one after the birth. I got one after it was too late, because I was afraid of failing and needing to spend money. But, once I did, everything turned around 200% Thanks, Cheryl!</content><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6398805684979964750/4005282932930267116/comments/default/9014775053280081963'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6398805684979964750/4005282932930267116/comments/default/9014775053280081963'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://newmomcentral.blogspot.com/2008/06/real-deal-on-sleep-deprivation.html?showComment=1214623200000#c9014775053280081963' title=''/><author><name>Bonnie Gray</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/07829661014216065099</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email></author><thr:in-reply-to xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0' href='http://newmomcentral.blogspot.com/2008/06/real-deal-on-sleep-deprivation.html' ref='tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6398805684979964750.post-4005282932930267116' source='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/6398805684979964750/posts/default/4005282932930267116' type='text/html'/></entry></feed>
